Shortwave Log started out back in 1990 as merely a logging program. (Yes, SWLog is now over 17 years old!) Through the years, more and more functionality has been added. Today Shortwave Log consists of the following applications:
- Shortwave Log, the original logging application
- Radio Control Server, control over two dozen receivers
- RCSweb, a web page to control any of the above receivers
- Chat, swap DX news in real time with others
- Audio Recording & Scheduler, make recordings of broadcasts
Shortwave Log runs under the most recent service pack for the following versions of Windows:
- Windows 2000
- Windows XP (32-bit)
- Windows Vista (32-bit and 64-bit)
- Windows Server 2003
- Windows Server 2008

The build number simply denotes the number of days since 1/1/2000. It is an easy way to number new builds.
Change Log
Shortwave Log is built using Microsoft techologies such as NetFx, C#, IIS, and SQL Sever 2005 Express.
Shortwave Log has fairly modest requirements. Any modern computer running Windows with at least 512 MB of RAM and a 1.0 GHz or higher processor is sufficient.
Shortwave Log is free, although donations are graciously accepted and ads are now needed to help defray costs. There is no adware, no spyware, and absolutely nothing evil in the program other than those logs from the commie bastard nations of Cuba and China.
