Shortwave Log was released in 1990 as a logging program for MS-DOS. Through the years, more and more functionality has been added. Today Shortwave Log consists of the following applications:
- Shortwave Log, the original logging application
- Radio Control Server, control over two dozen receivers
- RCS Remote, a web application that allows remote control via the Internet
- Audio Recording & Scheduler, make recordings of broadcasts
Shortwave Log runs under the following versions of Windows with the latest service pack:
- Windows 7
- Windows Vista
- Windows XP
The build number simply denotes the number of days since 1/1/2000. It is an easy way to number new builds. Rather than using version numbers like 1.1, 3.2, and 34.7, build numbers like 2919, 3029, and 3192 are used.
