THE SHORTWAVE LOG SUITE OF APPLICATIONS

Shortwave Log consists of the following applications:

• Shortwave Log, the original logging application
• Radio Control Server, control over two dozen receivers
• Audio Recording & Scheduler, make recordings of broadcasts
• Chat, real-time chat with other users of SWLog
• SWLog Online, a web application that allows remote control of your receiver via the Internet

Shortwave Log is the personal logging program of the author. It is available for download and use without charge for personal use. The price that you need to pay to use the program is to ensure that your computer is up-to-date with Windows Updates and to use certain business-class programs like the .NET Framework, SQL Server Express, and Crystal Reports. The #1 support issue for this program comes from those who want to use the program but who do not want to use the aforementioned applications. If you have a religious aversion to these applications, then Shortwave Log is not for you.

Prior to installing the application, ensure that the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 and the .NET Framework 4.0 Client Profile (or the full verison) are installed on the computer. If not, simply run Windows Update to install these components. Also it will save a reboot if the Microsoft Installer 4.5 is installed before installing Shortwave Log. The Microsoft Installer 4.5 can be downloaded from the Microsoft Download Center.

The installation package seamelssly bundles and installs several components that are used by the program. These direct links should not be needed, but are listed for convenience.
